Our fetal cardiology services include echocardiogram and consultation.
The evaluation is typically performed in the second or third trimester and there are times that it is repeated during the pregnancy.
Fetal echocardiography helps to identify fetal heart abnormalities prior to birth which allows for in-utero therapy, better planning for the delivery and for the immediate care of the baby after birth.
Our ACHD service provides care to adults born with heart conditions and need long term cardiac care. Many of them required heart procedure during their childhood.
We also provide care for inherited valve diseases (e.g. Bicuspid aortic valve), diseases of aorta and connective tissue diseases.
Our liaison with Toronto Congenital Cardiac Centre for Adults at Toronto General Hospital facilitates care for the most complex patients including those with Mustard/Senning procedure, ccTGA, Fontan circulation amongst others.
Our clinic provides pre-pregnancy counselling and care during pregnancy to women with heart disease: new diagnosis or previously known conditions. We help plan the delivery and postpartum care women with heart disease during this crucial period.
Athletes who need pre-participation cardiac assessment or have cardiac concerns are seen in our clinic.
We provide non-invasive cardiac diagnostic testing to our clinic patients. This includes 12 lead resting ECG, Holter, Echocardiogram, and Stress testing. We also arrange for cardiac MRI, and cardiac genetics testing among others for our patients.
